Conference Overview

This year's theme is Cry Out, taken from 1 Peter 2: 1-3 (NLT)

So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.

The Vision

The Gate is a unique gathering of youth from all over the nation who are ready for something more than just a typical “youth conference”. The Gate challenges us to go deeper in our understanding of who God is and how we can truly be changed by HIM! We believe that God has a desire to empower a generation with His Holy Spirit to bring about lasting renewal in a church that is statically declining. Now is the time to be filled! Now is the time to explore the gifts God has for us! Now is the time to be empowered to be a radical force for Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God.

The Schedule

The Gate is packed full of amazing opportunities to encounter God and be changed by Him! Each day we have morning and evening “main sessions” with Intense Worship, Incredible Speakers, Prayer Ministry and plenty of carpet time (a.k.a. “rug time” visually seen as teenagers all over the floor in deep communion with the FATHER). We also offer Equipping sessions (workshops on various topics), and mission outreach opportunities.

The Leadership

The Gate is sponsored by Aldersgate Renewal Ministries (ARM) and fall under the umbrella of the United Methodist Church as an affiliate of the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD). The Gate is led by Kourtney Brownlow who is on staff at ARM as the Director of the Gate Youth Ministries. The heart of our leadership however is made up volunteers from all over the nation that have a passion for teenagers and equipping them for Kingdom Ministry. Registration

Cost for the main conference (Thursday night through Sunday morning) is $74. Cost for Pre-Conference (Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon) is $38 (so Wednesday through Sunday would total $112). Single days (either only Friday or only Saturday) are also $38. The Gate evening sessions are free, so if you're local to Charleston and you can't afford the conference, please stop in for the evening sessions, we'd love to have you!

Youth leaders! This year you'll be able to take advantage of some GREAT discounts. Register 5 to 9 people and get a 20% discount. Register 10 or more people and get a 30% discount. This adds up to a free registration for every 9 people you register (if you do the math, the 10th is free). You could spread this discount across your whole group, or let your leaders go free!
