The Gate is a brand new youth conference birthed through Aldersgate Renewal Ministries.  Aldersgate has always had a youth element as a part of the annual Aldersgate conference, and while The Gate is a continuation of that, it really is a new thing. Along with the creation of The Gate, we've created a new identity and launched this website to keep everyone informed as much as possible about the conference.

The Gate was created by several youth leaders who had a desire to see a youth conference that went beyond the typical hype of most youth oriented conference, and really cultivated true spiritual change in the lives of students.  The Gate will be a conference where students have an encounter with Jesus and are equipped to take that encounter back to their community, school and church!  We're not looking to just have emotional experiences, but true heart-changing experiences in the presence of God through worship, teaching, speaking, equipping and application.

The Gate will feature an all youth praise band assembled from youth all over the country.  These youth will come to Charleston early and begin the stir up an atmosphere of worship through their practice and prayers.  They will lead with songs that rock your face off as you praise, and songs that bring you to your knees in worship.  Their goal is to be the soudtrack of God's movement during this conference.  We'll also have youth led drama's and human video's that will help draw us in closer to Jesus during the conference.

In addition to great worship and powerful speakers, we will be practicing application and will be partnering with different local ministries each year to do outreaches that reach into the local community.

Those of you who are Aldersgate veterans may wonder, what are some of the changes you'll see, and is the old Aldersgate youth conference gone? The answer is, the changes are great, and we're simply building on the foundation started by the previous conferences. The biggest changes will be in the schedule. The youth used to join the adult conference for several sessions throughout the week (which is why you can see in the photo galleries some of the worship shots are in a much larger room than other shots). We realized this left little time for the youth to actually get to know each other. With The Gate, we'll only be joining the adults on Sunday morning for a corporate worship service. Every other session will either be a main youth session, youth workshops, or some kind of ministry event (such as the inner city outreach we did for the Gate ’09).
